It’s incredible how the apparently fragile webs can last even outdoors. The seasons pass, the rain and the snow fall, the wind blows but they remain there… much after the spider has disappeared. And even when the hunter / spider is gone, the web keeps attracting and catching the passerby (dry leaves, bugs, feathers…).
Everything caught in this old web seems to be dead… except the feather. The leaves followed the natural course of their lives; the fallen feather evokes the idea of an interrupted life. The trees from where the leaves fell surely remain, alive; the bird that lost this feather may be still alive… or did another kind of hunter killed her?
Even if the bird is dead, the feather seems alive. Feathers don’t wither and this one seems intact and clean. It wouldn’t be much different if it was still in the body of a flying bird.
The central position that the feather occupies in the composition of your image is strongly responsible for this quite subjective interpretation… that goes on in the following poem / story.

The Meeting

The saddest thing is to remember… you
For what I remember is gone.
We met so many times!
You know we won’t ever meet again
As we’ve met before.
Let me tell you how I will remember you
Against all the concrete evidences of the facts.
I will remember what can’t remain in memory
Or be erased by reality.
What I will remember is beyond time.

You won’t be fragile flesh and blood.
You will be pure fantasy,
Infinite sensation of freedom,
Unbreakable link,
Rock that won’t turn to sand,
Star that won’t fall,
Wind embracing the totality of my being,
Tireless bird in the infinite sky,
Phoenix in the fire of my dreams.
Beyond the web of illusions,
Beyond time and memory,
We will meet again!
