This is, let me first say, a great idea. I would never have thought of this. The way the ice creates variations in the color and lighting of the objects imbues them with a sort of mystical quality. I also like the concept of small ephemeral things--flowers, leaves, etc.--frozen in time and preserved. I also see the concept of the fragility of these items, juxtaposed with the ice that both preserves and destroys them. I don't know if those were the concepts you were going for, but that's what I see. I like a piece that makes me think. The one suggestion I would have, if you were to do this again, would be to find a wider variety of objects, or to disperse them a bit more. The entire right half is the same, and though I like the variations on them from the ice, I would have liked to have seen a little more variety in the objects and their layout. But overall, I really like it. It's quietly beautiful.
Such an original idea and a beautiful outcome! Maybe it would've interesting to see more types of flowers on the right half of the mold, but it's lovely as it is too!
